Lauren Rich-Lama, Editor / @travelinglamas
Originally hailing from the glorious ‘burbs of Maryland, Lauren spent 15 years living in New York City before becoming a full-time globetrotter. A serial entrepreneur having helmed her own fashion PR agency for nearly a decade followed by running a successful wedding photography studio, she’s a self-described boss babe, Mrs and travel addict who’s happiest on the road, on a boat or in the air (just not a red-eye). Fueling said wanderlust, Lauren founded The Lama List in 2021 as an editorial destination for like-minded airport addicts seeking stylish, practical and streamlined travel + lifestyle inspiration. On any given day Lauren can be found embarking on an adventure, plotting a new one or recapping recent antics – usually at happy hour. Cheers!
Alberto Lama, Travel Photographer / @albertolamaphotographer
Growing up in the vibrant surroundings of Mexico City, Alberto was drawn to the art of documenting people, places and the unexpected from a young age. A New York City transplant of 15+ years, Alberto now enjoys life as a nomadic portrait and travel photographer, available for shoots in the NYC area, Mexico and far beyond. Most recently Alberto has expanded into the enterprising world of real estate, now a certified, independent real estate advisor focusing on luxury property sales in Tulum. When not busy multi-tasking he can be found working on language #3 (Italian), searching for the perfect taco al pastor and exploring the globe with his wife and partner-in-crime, Lauren.
It was a wine bar in New York City that brought us together one serendipitous summer eve in 2012. A few pours and many sparks later, the rest was history. We got hitched at NYC City Hall followed by a destination wedding in Tulum, and have since embarked on a number of adventures furthering our shared passion for travel, tacos and taking the road less traveled. Now, we call Mexico’s Riviera Maya our home base, NYC our forever hometown, and the world beyond our home away from home. Follow our nomadic adventures (and misadventures!) at @travelinglamas and here on The Lama List.
